About Us

Adolescents who have suffered from traumatic experiences are three times more likely to commit suicide, three times more likely to face job instability and depression and two times more likely to struggle financially in the future.

Many adolescents in Brooklyn face socioemotional challenges that affect their ability to create and pursue ambitious goals. Simone Muschett is a High School Educator in Brooklyn where approximately 80% of her students each year have endured at least one traumatic event that has hindered or limited their ability to overcome personal and academic insecurities. The lack of self-efficacy suffocates the opportunity for positive growth. Therefore, Muschett has created Resilient Young Minds (RYM) with the intent to remedy the decreasing internal motivation of adolescents facing these traumatic experiences through the cultivation of a growth mindset.
